4LEX - Polycarbonate (PC)
4LEX® is the registered trade name for Polycarbonate (PC) compounds produced by 4PLAS.
Our sustained substantial growth of the 4LEX® range is due to the extensive cost effective products offered to suit specific customer requirements. Either with standard ex-stock grades or short lead time custom compounded and coloured solutions.
PROPERTIES
4LEX® materials offer the following key properties:
• Transparent, tinted and high opacity grades
• Weather resistant grades (UV resistant)
• High stiffness - Glass filled grades
• Food and UL certified grades
• High gloss surface finish
• Low moisture absorption
• Accurate detail reproduction
• Good mechanical strength
• High dimensional stability - low warpage
• Excellent impact properties, even at low temperature
• Heat resistance - can be used within temperature range -40oC to 120oC
• Insulating electrical properties
• Flame retardant grades.
• Range of melt flows
PRODUCTS
The 4LEX® Polycarbonate standard range includes the following products:
• Prime: Standard tints and solid colours, range of melt flows, UV grades, food grades & UL grades
• Industrial: Clear, standard tints and solid colours
• Glass fibre filled and glass bead filled
• UV / Light stabilised
• Flame retardant to UL94 V-0 @ 0.8mm
Outside of our standard range we also offer custom compounded blends and tailor exact materials to our customers needs. 4LEX ® can be compounded with the following:
• Any tinted or opaque colour
• Impact modification
• Lubrication
• Flame retardant to specific standards including Glow Wire tests
• Specific flow characteristics

PACKAGING
4LEX® grades are supplied in compounded pellet form and packed in 25kg moisture proof bags. Other forms of packaging such as octabins are also available.
