Welcome to the latest 4PLAS newsletter, this month we wanted to update you on our recent work assisting our customers with substitution and approvals for new and alternative material grades.
Due to current extreme material shortages which in turn are creating extended lead times and in many cases no supply at all, we are being continually requested to substitute all sorts of grades and even polymer types to enable customers to continue production and start up new projects.
Of course this is not alway simple as many material grades have been approved and tested to specific regulations and applications often many years ago.
Direct comparisons can be made on physical properties and colour matching can be checked by the supply of plaques and samples provided to compare processing, however many products have been approved by laboratories and test houses such as UL and WRAS. To assist with approvals in these cases wehas been working hard to increase the numbers of 4PLAS grades listed as approved.
More 4PLAS grades are being added so its worth keeping an eye on what’s available, this is quick and easy using the links from our website just click on the UL or WRAS logo and it will take you straight to our listings files where you will find grade references, polymer types and specifications.
Should you wish to discuss these materials or any of our existing products further, or wish to suggest any topics or specific applications you want us to cover please let us know and we will try and include them.
Alternatively if you have a new compound application or a problem grade you would like replaced, please contact us at enquiries@4plas.com or call us on 0870 446 0424 and we would be happy to assist.
