NEWSLETTER
JULY 2023
Dear <<First Name>>,

Welcome to the latest 4PLAS newsletter, this month, we would like to continue to update  you on our progress on Environmental initiatives and materials, by highlighting our latest bio-based and bio-degradeable 4ETEC® range of materials.

Thanks to their natural, environmentally friendly compositions & low energy highly efficient manufacturing methods, the use of biomaterials has become widespread in many areas.  We are seeing increasing use in automotive, packaging including food to name a few. These materials offer many advantages, such as reduced waste, efficient use of resources, as well as a lower carbon footprint and utilisation of renewable resources.  Since they are biodegradable and can turn into waste or compost at the end of their life there is minimum impact to the environment.

After intensive research and pilot production trials conducted with our partners R&D team on biodegradable solutions, 4PLAS can now offer 4ETEC® Bio-based Bio-degradable products
Our 100% Bio-degradable product line consists of PLA & PBS polymers with natural additive reinforced grades also available. These compounds ensure we can offer a wide range of mechanical, thermal and visual properties, using a range of Bio-additives, such as agricultural waste, consumer food waste and natural fibres.

These materials require specialist compounding due to their low thermal stability and are pre-treated before compounding. Thanks to our extensive experience in engineering polymer compound formulation and processing, 4PLAS is proud to be able to offer customised sustainable bioplastic materials that allow for a wider range of use and deliver better performance to meet increasingly challenging technical demands.
4ETEC® 30% wood filled PLA can be used in pen bodies, toothbrushes, cutlery, glasses and is also suitable for 3D printing applications.
4ETEC® 25% mineral filled PLA / PBS alloy can be used in cutlery and glasses due to its good thermal stability and elasticity.
4ETEC®  Technical Bio-based PA compounds have been developed to offer 100% sustainable material solutions for applications in the automotive industry, replacing many traditional PA6 and PA66 materials.
4ETEC® PA6.10 reinforced with 30% recycled carbon fibre can be used to provide sustainable material solutions for applications in the automotive industry to replace PA6 and PA66.

4ETEC®  Bio-based PA with 30% glass fibre can replace PA66 30% glass fibre in many engineering applications.
In additional we continue to work with natural additives such as Bio-based agricultural wastes, consumer food wastes and natural fibres to develop and expand the 4ETEC® range on more traditional polymers such as PP, ABS & PE with Bio-content fibres and fillers, more on these in future newsletters.
Should you wish to discuss these materials or any of our existing products further, or wish to suggest any topics or specific applications you want us to cover please let us know and we will try and include them.

Alternatively if you have a new compound application or a problem grade you would like replaced, please contact us at enquiries@4plas.com or call us on 0870 446 0424 and we would be happy to assist.
