Welcome to the latest 4PLAS newsletter, this month we want to update you on how things have been going.
2023 has been a very busy year for 4PLAS. We began with strong sales in a volatile market and have since seen some polymers fall and others remain static. The cost of additives such as flame retardants impact modifiers and pigments, remains high along with many more specialty engineering polymers.
Conditions are still uncertain; some market sectors remaining strong whilst others have weakened.
Against a backdrop of continually increasing interest rates and a fluctuating currency, prices of many global commodities have fallen back since the Pandemic shortages and concern over the war in Ukraine. While this uncertainty continues, prices have probably reached their new level for now and we are doing our best to pass on any reduced prices to our customers wherever possible.
Lead times at 4PLAS have always been amongst the best in the industry and we continue to maintain a fast order turnaround, flexible production quantities and innovative technical solutions. This has kept us busy, helping customers with their material and custom compounds needs by offering our alternative grades, notably specialty grades in specific colours and higher performance recycled grades.
On the 1st March we became part of Safic Alcan a significant Paris based global group, offering a comprehensive portfolio of chemicals and additives. It has been "business as usual" since we began to work with our new colleagues in Safic Alcan UK. Day to day continues as before with all the usual email and contact phone numbers as does our manufacturing plants and warehouse and distribution system.
Safic Alcan UK Managing Director Barry McDonnell said "Safic Alcan is committed to providing a strong base to support the continued growth of the 4PLAS product range, and in time will offer an even wider range of products and services. I am delighted to welcome the team to the fold."
We are also delighted to announce that we we once again be exhibiting at the forthcoming INTERPLAS 2023 show at the NEC Birmingham, on the 26th to 28th September. We look forward t welcoming you at our stand A76 in Hall 4.
